Since the dawn of awareness, humankind has been celebrating the mid-winter and mid-summer solstices with a feeling of hope, community and well-being. These are turning points, symbolic of endings and new beginnings. I’ve no idea what this New Moon & Solstice is on for me… am balancing my way toward it, trusting it’ll be fortuitous depending on the degree of clear focus I place on what I need/want. (Oct.2, 1950/ 7.20-30am/Sydney): Sun ?9% Libra, Moon in Gemini… Thanks for this, Kim. It’s been pretty stressful here.
I think that makes you Scorpio rising, Melody. Totally understandable that things have felt stressful with the Oct. 2 birthday. That makes your sun 8 Libra so right now you have Uranus (change) opposite the Sun (identity) and Pluto (transformations) square as well. It would be weird if you weren’t having an identity crises of some sort. The good news is, the change is all in your favour. All of it. So hang in there, feel, process and move on. Rinse. Repeat.

Re. your project: I also have a daughter, now 25 – & recall that age – 18. I just viewed her page & she posted re. her doings (busy/a dancer, etc) incl. “… then to Byron to chill out with my Mum for a week… but – at age 18… she was struggling her way… with Mum ‘there’, yet – to be appreciated more later.
Hindsight tells me that what you’re doing is fabulous, Fiona. Compile all (“soo much”) from Your vantage point… make it Your project – your creation – as a gift for her later – & therefore also for you. I assure you she will def. care, later, to view it all – very much so. It’ll also, your project here, serve to forge your relationship with her.

Well this is interesting! I completely forgot about the solstice and the new moon, and my natal Mars is 1 degree Cancer in the 2nd house. A close friend has south node at the same degree too.. have been hoping for change, so bring it on!

Hi Kim, this may sound naive but it is something I have always been curious about and I am still in the process of learning (I hope always learning). The Aries point on my natal chart is 11th house, however as a Sag, will this also light up my 7th house as your tips above would indicate. Which is more relevant?
Excellent question. The Aries Point is a term to describe the four cardinal signs that mark the solstices and the equinox. So the AP is 0 Aries, 0 Cancer, 0 Libra, 0 Capricorn. In the 90 degree dial, these all become one point as the chart is folded into quarters. So yes, the primary activation will be 0 Cancer in your 7th as wall as all three other cardinal points. But 7th house relationships are the big stir right now!

I can see our Mars/Venus synastry in play in that I’ve found this site and started posting (your 11th house of groups,Kim) and that it has been helping me to feel “valued” – (my 2nd house) – i.e my observations are noted and affirmed – thanks for that! At the moment, i can see the “core value” lessons being held up to the light with the help of Jupiter in my 12th house (expansion of awareness of my underlying beliefs). I’m getting a deeper understanding of where I hold myself back and where I’m not valued and I’m realising that it’s ok to walk my path without apology, doing the things that make me feel loving and whole. The irony is that other people then automatically benefit – it’s the opposite of selfish. Saying no to family bullying for about 9 months now seems to be paying off. I love the way this all fits in – astrology is so much fun! x
