Come celebrate with us! We’re giving away a Supernatural Underground Halloween Book Prize Pack, filled with 24 books, all written by Supernatural Underground authors, Moi included.

The tradition Halloween dates back thousands of years to the ancient Celts. Like a New Years Eve celebration, samhain, (pronounced sow-in, summer’s end) heralded the last harvest of the year and the beginning of the long winter. Druids would dress in animal costumes, light the ‘bone fires’ and make sacrifices to the wild gods.  The spirits of the dead, and those who have not yet been born, would join the living, share food (the feast of the dead) and tell fortunes. On this night, the veil thins and the spirits walk among us! In the morning, each hearth would then be lit with with embers from the bone fire, a protection for the coming months.

But by 1000 A.D., the church subsumed this celebration into  All-hallows (from Middle English All holowmesse meaning All Saints’ Day) and the night before it was called All-hallows Eve, or Halloween. At the heart of it all, we still experience the honoring of the spirits of the un-living – the things that go bump in the night!

To help that celebration along, the authors at the Supernatural Underground wanted to do something special this month to commemorate the spirits of the dead! It didn’t take us long to figure out the perfect giveaway!

Note: Three Book Giveaway at the Supernatural Underground this weekend!

Eros opposite Pan this weekend is a trickster vibe, one where the call of the wild may lure you into nature’s secret ways. Be it in your vivid imagination, dreams or waking life, expect the sultry allure of Eros to mingle with Pan’s shock tactics.

The Trickster is an archetypal figure found in all cultures, in all places, in all times. She, or he, is both unconscious and super-conscious, hidden in our psyche and projected out into the world.

The Trickster comes along when we are stuck, either in a habit pattern that no longer serves us, a limiting thought about ourselves or others, or a feeling of being trapped or out of touch with the creative life force. When we get into such a state, sooner or later the Trickster comes to blow the roof off the house. We fall in love, or make a radical change or have a sudden shake up and the flow of energy to our hearts is renewed.
