In Amanda’s chart, she has Virgo and Pisces polarity intercepted in their ‘home’ houses of 6 and 12. It can be that the answers to all the analytical questions (Virgo) are not readily available in the daily environment or job (6th). Much seeking has to be internal and not external. Pisces locked away in the 12th needs Virgo’s discrimination to make creative choices about where you place trust, loyalty and faith. Dreams, synchronicities and intuition can be ‘lost’ until there is a connection with true core values (that often don’t match what was supported in the upbringing).
But what of the duplicated signs? Unlike the hidden intercepts, they represent something we have in abundance. The more we develop the qualities of the duplicated signs, the more confidence we have, and self awareness, to explore the intercepts. See these doubled up signs as the cusp with the lesser degree wanting to bring those house and sign qualities to the cusp with the greater degree. Example: Amanda’s 4th cusp (click on the chart for the enlarged image) is 2 degrees of Cancer and her 5th house cusp is 20 degrees of Cancer. This means that 4th house qualities like core strength, an internal sense of emotional stability and ‘deep roots’ to the soul are necessary before making a creative mark on the world (5th house). Also a powerful sense of self is beneficial before embarking on parenthood. At the opposite end, Capricorn and 10th house qualities of ambition, practical goals and career can contribute to social growth, reform and the betterment of the collective (11th). Until some of the practical side of the career is underway, it’s difficult to know the true goals in life.
Jen also has duplicated Cancer and Capricorn but here its on the 2nd and 3rd houses, and 8th and 9th. The feeling here is that core values, what really offers a sense of meaning in life, must be discovered to get the most out of what is learned. Communication and connections improve the more the true talents are developed. Education, writing, teaching and ideas are ways to express the core self and allow for self-sufficiency in a financial sense. With Capricorn on 8 and 9, research and a deep understanding of anything ‘occult’ or hidden comes before the true philosophy and world view is developed. Interesting that Scorpio (natural ruler of the 8th) is the intercepted sign. By developing activities inherent in the 8th, (research, shared resources, intimacy, risk, trust) the power of Scorpio can be unleashed in the 6th to make creative changes in the day to day environment.
